A Few Testimonials:
VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE
Robert Child gave a presentation on the service members featured in his book, Immortal Valor: The Black Medal of Honor Recipients Of World War II, to our cadets and members of the public. The film vignettes he created on each recipient provided a historical and personal backdrop for his talk. The audience was fully engaged with his content and came away with a deeper appreciation for this men and also the societal restrictions they lived with.

Video from Talk:
On behalf of the Friends of the National World War II Memorial, we thank Robert Child so much for his wonderfully informative and fascinating presentation during today’s monthly virtual education conference. And, thank him for the terrific discussions that followed!
It was a great honor and privilege to have Robert provide our audience with an eye-opening glimpse of the extraordinary service and “Immortal Valor" of the “The Black Medal of Honor Recipients of World War II.” I especially appreciated the important discussions of the Wreath 11 — a tragedy known by too few. The service and sacrifices of African Americans during WWII is such an important legacy to preserve and to share with all Americans, in particular our younger generations.
We are grateful to him for sharing his time, knowledge, and expertise with us!

Film producer and director Rob Child gave a very moving and
powerful presentation to the Binghamton University Forum, www.binghamton.edu/binghamtonforum
on the making of his film “The
Wereth Eleven.” The audience was so engaged in his talk that you could
hear a pin drop – something not often experienced at Binghamton University
Forum programs. He has a way of making the audience feel comfortable in
his presence. You will find that he is engaging, knowledgeable and
humble.

Please extend our gratitude to Robert for his visit to Rider
University. We pride ourselves on exposing students to real professionals
and Robert's discussion of his experiences was invaluable for them.
His insights into ingenuity in modern filmmaking was particularly
interesting given the changing landscape of film production and distribution.
I hope with his busy schedule that Robert is able to join us again in the
future to share his knowledge with our students.
All the best,

Robert Child spoke to an assembly of students ranging from
7th to 12th grade on October 2. He gave us an in-depth glimpse into the
world of movie making, directing, and the in-depth research that goes into an
historical documentary. He was an excellent speaker. Robert took the time to
capture our students' attention with his historical knowledge as well as his
film documentaries. All of the video clips were very interesting. Rob was
very thorough as well as adding levity to his presentation. I would ask him to
speak again. He was great!
